Hadith 9180
Narrated by Sayyiduna Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with him), who had the honor of companionship, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Verily, anger is from Satan, and Satan was created from fire, and fire is extinguished with water. Therefore, when any of you becomes angry, he should perform ablution.
Hadith 9181
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) that in the presence of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), two men began to abuse each other, and one of them became so enraged that it seemed his nose would burst due to anger. At that moment, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I know a word which, if this angry man were to say it, his anger would go away. That word is: "Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minash-shaytanir-rajim." (O Allah! I seek refuge with You from the accursed devil.)
Hadith 9182
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed us: When any one of you becomes angry while standing, he should sit down. If the anger leaves him, then fine; otherwise, he should lie down.
