Hadith 9122
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or oppressed. Someone asked: O Messenger of Allah! I understand that we should help the oppressed, but how can we help the oppressor? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Prevent him from oppression. In another narration it is stated: Stop him from oppression; this, in fact, will be his help.
Hadith 9123
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that two boys fought, one of them was from the Muhajirun and the other from the Ansar. The former called out: "O Muhajirun!" and the latter shouted: "O Ansar!" Upon hearing this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out and said: "Is the call of ignorance being raised?" The Companions said: "No, by Allah! It is just that one boy struck the other on the back with his hand or foot (and that is why the fight happened)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Alright, there is no harm, but a person should help his brother, whether he is an oppressor or oppressed. If he is an oppressor, then stop him from oppression, that will be help for him, and if he is oppressed, then support and assist him."
Hadith 9124
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunaif (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever, in whose presence a believer is humiliated and he does not help him, while he is able to help, then Allah Almighty will humiliate him before all of creation on the Day of Resurrection.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Anas al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever protects a believer from a hypocrite who is finding faults with him, Allah Almighty will send down an angel upon him who will protect his flesh from the fire of Hell on the Day of Judgment. And whoever pursues a believer with something blameworthy in order to disgrace him, Allah Almighty will stop him on the bridge over Hell until he withdraws from what he has said.
