Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The right of hospitality is for three days; after that, whatever the guest receives will be charity for him.
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) also narrates a similar hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Shurayh Khuzai (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Hospitality is for three days, and the guest's right is for one day and night. And it is not lawful for anyone to stay with someone to such an extent that he makes him sinful. The Companions asked: O Messenger of Allah! How would he make him sinful? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Its form is that the guest stays with him while he has nothing left for hospitality.
Abu Uthman Nahdi says: I stayed as a guest of Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) for seven days. I heard him say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed dates among his companions. My share was seven dates, among which there was one inferior date, yet that was the one I liked the most. I had to chew it with great effort.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person goes to his Muslim brother and he offers him some food, he should eat it and not ask about it; similarly, if he offers him a drink, he should drink it and not ask about it.
Sayyiduna Miqdam bin Ma’dikarib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The (first) night’s hospitality for a guest is obligatory upon every Muslim. If the guest spends the night in the host’s adjoining courtyard in such a state that he is deprived of this right, then it will be a debt upon the host. The guest may demand it if he wishes, or he may forgo it.
(Second chain) The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: If a Muslim becomes the guest of a people, but he wakes up in the morning deprived of his right, then it is obligatory upon every Muslim to help that guest, until he receives his right of hospitality for that night from the host’s crops and wealth.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a guest stays with some people, but in the morning he finds himself deprived of his right, then it will be permissible for him to take from them according to the measure of his hospitality; there will be no blame upon him in this.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: We said: O Messenger of Allah! You send us to some regions, and when we come to some people who do not offer us hospitality, what do you say about this? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you come to some people and they order for you something suitable for a guest, then accept that thing, and if they do not do so, then take from them the right of the guest which it was incumbent upon them to fulfill.
