Hadith 8902
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Companions said: O Messenger of Allah! Such thoughts come to us that we would prefer to become charcoal rather than talk about them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: All praise is due to Allah, who has given this Satan only the power to cast whispers. The words of one narrator are: All praise is due to Allah, who has turned the matter of Satan towards whispering.
Hadith 8903
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, that a man came to the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: O Messenger of Allah! Such thoughts come to me that, compared to speaking about them, I would prefer to fall from the sky. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Allah is the Greatest, all praise is for Allah, Who has turned the plot of this devil towards mere whispering.
Hadith 8904
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Indeed, Allah Almighty has forgiven my Ummah for those matters which occur to their minds or about which they have doubts, as long as they do not act upon them or speak about them.
