Hadith 8884
Narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Actions are only by intentions, and every person will have only what he intended. So whoever's migration is for Allah and His Messenger, then his migration is for Allah and His Messenger. And whoever's migration is for the world, which he will attain, or for a woman whom he will marry, then his migration is for that for which he migrated. (In short), the migration of the emigrant is for that for which (with the intention of which) he migrated.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ma’n bin Yazid (may Allah be pleased with them both), he says: I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) along with my father and grandfather. He sent a proposal for my engagement and also performed my marriage. I went to him with a dispute. The detail is that my father, Sayyiduna Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him), went out to give some dinars in charity and gave them to a man in the mosque (so that he would give charity on his behalf), but what happened was that I took those dinars from him and brought them home. So he said: By Allah! I did not intend to give them to you. So I took this dispute to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Yazid! For you is what you intended, and O Ma’n! Whatever you have taken is for you.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I had a cousin, and I think that among all the Muslims of Madinah Munawwarah, his house was the farthest, yet despite this, he would be present with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) for all the prayers. One day I said to him: If you buy a donkey, so that you can ride it in the heat and darkness and be protected from insects and pests. But he said: By Allah! I do not even wish that my house be adjacent to the Prophet's Mosque. In another narration, he said: It does not even please me that my house be joined to the house of Allah's Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). This statement of his seemed most unpleasant to me. Nevertheless, I told the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) the whole matter. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him about it, he said: O Messenger of Allah! (I wish that when I come towards the mosque) and then return to my family, all the traces of my footsteps be recorded. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has granted you all of this. In another narration: Surely, for this person, there is a rank for every step. And in another narration: For you is that which you intended, or the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The reward for which you intended is for you.

Narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was sleeping when he suddenly began to smile in his sleep. When he woke up, I asked: O Messenger of Allah! Why were you smiling? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Some people from my Ummah will intend to attack this House of Allah (the Ka'bah), their target will be that Qurayshi man who will have taken refuge in the Haram. When these people reach the place of Bayda, all of them will be swallowed up, but (on the Day of Resurrection) their places of emergence will be different, Allah the Exalted will resurrect them according to their intentions. I said: Allah the Exalted will raise them according to their intentions and their places of emergence will be different, how will that be? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The matter is that these people will have gathered on one path, otherwise among them will be some with insight, some travelers, and some compelled, but all will perish in one place of destruction and will emerge from different places.
