Hadith 8871
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) met me, he (peace and blessings be upon him) initiated the greeting of peace and said: O Uqbah bin Amir! Shall I not teach you the best three Surahs that were revealed in the Torah, the Gospel, the Psalms, and the Noble Qur’an? I said: May Allah sacrifice me for you, certainly tell me. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) taught me Surah Ikhlas, Surah Falaq, and Surah Nas and said: O Uqbah! Do not forget them and do not spend any night except that you recite them in it. Since the time he (peace and blessings be upon him) advised me not to forget them, I have not forgotten them, nor have I spent any night except that I have recited them in it.
Hadith 8872
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Khubaib, he says: We were extremely thirsty, and it was dark, and we were waiting for the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) so that he (peace and blessings be upon him) would come and lead us in prayer. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived and took hold of my hand and said: Say. I remained silent. He (peace and blessings be upon him) again said: Say. I asked: O Messenger of Allah, what should I say? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you reach the evening and the morning, recite Surah Ikhlas, Surah Falaq, and Surah Nas three times each; they will suffice you every day, twice.
Hadith 8873
Narrated by Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Once I was leading the mount of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) along a path passing through a mountain. Suddenly, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "O Uqbah! Why don't you ride?" I said nothing; in fact, out of reverence for the grandeur of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), I did not wish to ride. But the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again said: "O Uqayb! Why don't you ride?" Now I became afraid that this might be considered disobedience, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) dismounted and I rode for a short while. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mounted again and said: "O Uqayb! Shall I not teach you the two best Surahs which people recite?" I said: "Yes, absolutely, O Messenger of Allah!" So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught me Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Naas. Meanwhile, the Iqamah for prayer was called, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) advanced and recited these two Surahs in that prayer. Then he passed by me and said: "O Uqayb! How did you find (the excellence of these two Surahs, as I have recited them in prayer)?" Whenever you go to sleep and whenever you wake up, recite these Surahs.
Hadith 8874
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Two surahs have been revealed to me. In another narration, it is stated: Such verses have been revealed to me that no verses like them have been found; seek refuge through them. There is no other surah like them through which refuge may be sought.
Hadith 8875
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) commanded me to recite the Mu'awwidhat, that is, Surah al-Falaq and Surah an-Nas, after every prayer. This is a plural word and by it, three surahs (Ikhlas, Falaq, and Nas) are meant.
Hadith 8876
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said to me: Recite Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Naas, there is nothing like these Surahs that you recite.
Hadith 8877
Abu Alaa says: A man, that is, Sayyiduna Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him), said: We were on a journey with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and due to the scarcity of mounts, people were riding in turns. Then the turn for the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and me to dismount also came. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) met me from behind and struck my shoulder and said: Recite {قُلْ أَ عُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ}. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited that Surah and I recited it along with him. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Recite {قُلْ أَ عُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ}. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this entire Surah and I recited it along with him. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you pray, recite these.
