تفسير من سورة الملك إلى سورة البروجInterpretation from Surah Al-Mulk to Surah Al-Buruj
بَابُ: «وَأَنَّهُ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَدْعُوهُ كَادُوْا يَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًا»
Chapter: "And that when the servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost crowded upon him"
Hadith 8810
عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ مَا قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْجِنِّ وَلَا رَآهُمْ انْطَلَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي طَائِفَةٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ عَامِدِينَ إِلَى سُوقِ عُكَاظٍ وَقَدْ حِيلَ بَيْنَ الشَّيَاطِينِ وَبَيْنَ خَبَرِ السَّمَاءِ وَأُرْسِلَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الشُّهُبُ قَالَ فَرَجَعَتِ الشَّيَاطِينُ إِلَى قَوْمِهِمْ فَقَالُوا مَا لَكُمْ قَالُوا حِيلَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ خَبَرِ السَّمَاءِ وَأُرْسِلَتْ عَلَيْنَا الشُّهُبُ قَالَ فَقَالُوا مَا حَالَ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَ خَبَرِ السَّمَاءِ إِلَّا شَيْءٌ حَدَثَ فَاضْرِبُوا مَشَارِقَ الْأَرْضِ وَمَغَارِبَهَا فَانْظُرُوا مَا هَذَا الَّذِي حَالَ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَ خَبَرِ السَّمَاءِ قَالَ فَانْطَلَقُوا يَضْرِبُونَ مَشَارِقَ الْأَرْضِ وَمَغَارِبَهَا يَبْتَغُونَ مَا هَذَا الَّذِي حَالَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ خَبَرِ السَّمَاءِ قَالَ فَانْصَرَفَ النَّفَرُ الَّذِينَ تَوَجَّهُوا نَحْوَ تِهَامَةَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ بِنَخْلَةَ عَامِدًا إِلَى سُوقِ عُكَاظٍ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي بِأَصْحَابِهِ صَلَاةَ الْفَجْرِ قَالَ فَلَمَّا سَمِعُوا الْقُرْآنَ اسْتَمَعُوا لَهُ وَقَالُوا هَذَا وَاللَّهِ الَّذِي حَالَ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَ خَبَرِ السَّمَاءِ قَالَ فَهُنَالِكَ حِينَ رَجَعُوا إِلَى قَوْمِهِمْ فَقَالُوا يَا قَوْمَنَا {إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا قُرْآنًا عَجَبًا يَهْدِي إِلَى الرُّشْدِ فَآمَنَّا بِهِ} [الجن: 1-2] الْآيَةَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَى نَبِيِّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ {قُلْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ} [الجن: 1] وَإِنَّمَا أُوحِيَ إِلَيْهِ قَوْلُ الْجِنِّ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) neither recited to the jinn nor saw them. The incident is as follows: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once set out with a group of his noble companions to go to the market of ‘Ukaz. Meanwhile, (due to the arrival of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him) barriers had been placed between the news of the heavens and the jinn, and fiery missiles began to be hurled at them. When the devils returned to their people, they said: What has happened to you? They replied: Now a barrier has been placed between us and the news of the heavens, and fiery missiles are hurled at us. This barrier between us and the news of the heavens is due to some incident. Go, travel the east and west of the earth and see what is it that has come between us and the heavenly news. Those jinn roamed the east and west in search of this barrier. A group of them came towards Tihamah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was in the valley of Nakhlah, on his way to the market of ‘Ukaz, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was leading his companions in the Fajr prayer. When they heard the Noble Qur’an, they listened attentively and exclaimed: This is the very thing that has come between you and the news of the heavens. When they returned to their people from there, they said: {إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا قُرْآنًا عَجَبًا یَہْدِی إِلَی الرُّشْدِ فَآمَنَّا بِہِ} … O our people! We have heard a wondrous Qur’an, which guides to righteousness and guidance, so we have believed in it. Meanwhile, Allah Almighty revealed to His Prophet: {قُلْ أُوحِیَ إِلَیَّ أَ نَّہُ} … Say: It has been revealed to me. The words of the jinn were revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
