Hadith 8705
Abu Zubyan says: We said to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them): Tell us, what is the meaning of Allah Almighty’s statement: {مَا جَعَلَ اللّٰہُ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ قَلْبَیْنِ فِی جَوْفِہِ} … Allah Almighty has not made two hearts in the body of any man. What does this mean? He said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was one day performing prayer, and he experienced a distraction. The hypocrites who used to pray with him said: You have two hearts, one with them, meaning the hypocrites, and one with his companions. Then Allah Almighty revealed this verse: {مَا جَعَلَ اللّٰہُ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ قَلْبَیْنِ فِی جَوْفِہِ}.
