It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Mubashshir (may Allah be pleased with her) that she heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying, while he was with Sayyida Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Those people who pledged allegiance to me under the tree at Hudaybiyyah, insha’Allah, none of them will enter Hell. Sayyida Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) said: O Messenger of Allah! Why not? Then when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) rebuked her, she said: Allah Almighty has said: {وَإِنْمِنْکُمْإِلَّاوَارِدُہَا} … And surely every one of you will come to it (Hell). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: Allah Almighty has also said: {ثُمَّنُنَجِّیالَّذِینَاتَّقَوْاوَنَذَرُالظَّالِمِینَفِیہَاجِثِیًّا} … Then We will save those who feared Allah, and We will leave the wrongdoers therein, fallen on their knees.

Abu Samiyah says: We differed regarding entering Hell; some said: A believer will not enter it, but others said: All will enter, then Allah Almighty will save the people of piety. I met Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) and I said: We have differed regarding entering Hell; some say that the believer will not enter it, but others say that all will enter. He put his fingers in his ears and said: May they become deaf, if I had not heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say this: By entering is meant entering; every righteous and wicked person will enter this Hell, but that fire will be coolness and safety for the believers, just as it was for Ibrahim (peace be upon him), until, due to the coolness, a sound will be heard from their Hell. Then it will happen that Allah Almighty will save the pious people and will leave the wrongdoers in it on their knees.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), who, while interpreting the statement of Allah Almighty { وَإِنْمِنْکُمْإِلَّاوَارِدُہَا}, says: All people will enter it, then they will come out based on their deeds. Abdur Rahman bin Mahdi said to Imam Shu'bah: Israel narrates this as marfu‘ (attributed to the Prophet)? He said: Yes, it is from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), or it is equivalent in meaning to the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
