Hadith 8603
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) explained the statement of Allah Almighty {فَلَمَّا تَجَلَّی رَبُّہُ لِلْجَبَلِ} by pointing with his little finger, but (with just such a manifestation) the mountain sank into the earth.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding Allah Almighty’s statement {فَلَمَّا تَجَلّٰی رَبُّہُ لِلْجَبَلِ جَعَلَہٗدَکًّا} “…So when his Lord appeared to the mountain, He made it crumble to dust.” said: It happened just like that. At the same time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) showed the edge of his little finger. When Mu’adh showed us this gesture, Humaid the Tall said: O Abu Muhammad! What do you mean by this example? But Abu Muhammad struck Humaid hard on the chest and said: Humaid! Who are you? What are you, Humaid! Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this to me from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and you ask, “What do you mean by this example?”
