(Second chain) Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me while I was in pain and unconscious. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution and poured water over me, or he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Pour water over him." So I regained consciousness. I said: "My heirs are only kinsfolk (kalalah); in such a case, how will the inheritance be distributed?" Then the verse regarding inheritance was revealed.
Narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I fell ill and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came on foot to visit me. I was unconscious, so I could not speak to you. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution and poured water over me, which made me regain consciousness. I said: O Messenger of Allah! What should I do with my wealth, while my sisters are my heirs? Then this verse regarding inheritance was revealed {یَسْتَفْتُونَکَقُلِاللّٰہُیُفْتِیکُمْفِیالْکَلَالَۃِ} … People ask you for a legal verdict. Say: Allah gives you a verdict concerning kalalah. Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) had no children, only sisters, {إِنْامْرُؤٌہَلَکَلَیْسَلَہُوَلَدٌوَلَہُأُخْتٌ} … If a man dies and has no children and he has a sister.

Narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I fell ill, and I had seven sisters. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me and sprinkled water on my face, and I regained consciousness. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Should I bequeath two-thirds of my wealth for my sisters? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do more. I said: Should I bequeath half of my wealth? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do more. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) left me and then returned and said: O Jabir! I think you will not die from this illness. In any case, Allah Almighty has revealed the Qur’an and clarified the share of your sisters and has given them two-thirds. Sayyiduna Jabir used to say: This verse was revealed about me: {یَسْتَفْتُونَکَقُلِاللّٰہُیُفْتِیکُمْفِیالْکَلَالَۃِ}.
