بَابُ قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: «هُوَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكَ الكِتَابَ مِنْهُ آيَاتٌ مُحْكَمَاتٌ۔۔۔۔»
Chapter: His saying, the Exalted: "He it is Who has sent down to you the Book; in it are verses that are clear..."
Hadith 8532
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ هُوَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ مِنْهُ آيَاتٌ مُحْكَمَاتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ الْكِتَابِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشَابِهَاتٌ فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ زَيْغٌ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَابَهَ مِنْهُ ابْتِغَاءَ الْفِتْنَةِ وَابْتِغَاءَ تَأْوِيلِهِ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ تَأْوِيلَهُ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَالرَّاسِخُونَ فِي الْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ آمَنَّا بِهِ كُلٌّ مِنْ عِنْدِ رَبِّنَا وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّا أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ [سورة آل عمران: ٧] فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الَّذِينَ يُجَادِلُونَ فِيهِ فَهُمُ الَّذِينَ عَنَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَاحْذَرُوهُمْ
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited these verses: He it is Who has sent down to you the Book; in it are verses that are clear and precise—they are the foundation of the Book—and others are allegorical. Then those in whose hearts is deviation follow that which is allegorical, seeking discord and seeking its interpretation. But no one knows its interpretation except Allah. And those firm in knowledge say: “We believe in it; all is from our Lord.” And none take heed except those of understanding. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you see those who argue about the Qur’an, they are the very people who cause discord, about whom Allah Almighty has said: beware of them.
Hadith 8533
عَنْ أَبِي غَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا أُمَامَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ زَيْغٌ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَابَهَ مِنْهُ [سورة آل عمران: ٧] قَالَ هُمُ الْخَوَارِجُ وَفِي قَوْلِهِ يَوْمَ تَبْيَضُّ وُجُوهٌ وَتَسْوَدُّ وُجُوهٌ [سورة آل عمران: ١٠٦] قَالَ هُمُ الْخَوَارِجُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding Allah Almighty’s statement {فَأَ مَّا الَّذِینَ فِی قُلُوبِہِمْ زَیْغٌ فَیَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَابَہَ مِنْہُ} … Then those in whose hearts is deviation follow that which is allegorical thereof… that these are the Khawarij. Similarly, regarding {یَوْمَ تَبْیَضُّ وُجُوہٌ وَّتَسْوَدُّ وُجُوہٌ} … On that Day some faces will be white and some faces will be black, he also said that what is meant here are the Khawarij.
