Hadith 8518
Sayyida Asma bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In these two verses is Allah’s Greatest Name: {اَللَّہُ لَا اِلٰہَ إِلَّا ہُوَ الْحَیُّ الْقَیُّومُ} and {الٓمٓ اللّٰہُ لَا اِلٰہَ إِلَّا ہُوَ الْحَیُّ الْقَیُّومُ}.
Hadith 8519
It is narrated from Abu Salil that a companion used to narrate hadiths to the people, until when the number of people increased, he climbed onto the roof of the house to narrate hadiths to them. One such hadith was: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Which verse in the Holy Qur'an is the greatest? A man replied and said: {اَللَّہُ لَا اِلٰہَ إِلَّا ہُوَ الْحَیُّ الْقَیُّومُ} meaning Ayat al-Kursi. Upon hearing this answer, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his hand on his shoulder. He said: I felt the coolness of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) hand in my chest, or the companion said: Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his hand on my chest and I felt its coolness between my shoulders. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Abu Mundhir! May this knowledge be blessed for you, this is indeed knowledge.
Hadith 8520
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abi (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked me: Which verse in the Book of Allah is the greatest in magnificence? I said: Allah and His Messenger know best, but you repeated this question several times. Eventually, I said: It is Ayat al-Kursi. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Abu Mundhir! May your knowledge be blessed for you. By the One in Whose hand is my soul! This verse has a tongue and two lips; it glorifies Allah, the King, near the foot of the Throne.
Hadith 8521
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I was on a platform in my house, a jinn would come and take (goods, etc.). I complained about this to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you see him, say: "In the name of Allah! Accept the word of the Messenger of Allah." When he came, I said this to him and caught him. He said: I will not return now. So I let him go. I came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: What happened to the prisoner? I said: I had caught him, but when he promised not to come again, I let him go. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He will return. When he came again, I caught him and let him go two or three times; each time he would say that he would not return, and whenever I went to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: What did the prisoner do? I said: I catch him, and he says he will not return, so I let him go. He (peace and blessings be upon him) again said: Watch, he will return. Indeed, he came, and I caught him. This time he said: Let me go, I will teach you something by which nothing will come near you. That is Ayat al-Kursi. When I came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him this, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He is a great liar, but he has spoken the truth to you.
