Hadith 8488
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ مُقْبِلًا مِنْ مَكَّةَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ حَيْثُ تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ وَفِيهِ نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {فَأَيْنَمَا تُوَلُّوا فَثَمَّ وَجْهُ اللَّهِ}
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was performing prayer on his mount while he was traveling from Makkah Mukarramah to Madinah Munawwarah. The mount would turn in whichever direction it wished. Regarding this, the following verse was revealed: {فَاَیْنَمَا تُوَلُّوْا فَثَمَّ وَجْہُ اللّٰہِ} … Wherever you turn, there is the Face of Allah. (Surah Al-Baqarah: 115)
