What Has Been Reported Regarding Surah Al-Qamar
Hadith 8428
وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا قَالَ أَقْرَأَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ [سورة القمر: ١٧] فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مُدَّكِرٍ أَوْ مُذَّكِّرٍ قَالَ أَقْرَأَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُدَّكِرٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught me to recite: {وَلَقَدْ یَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّکْرِ فَہَلْ مِنْ مُدَّکِرٍ} A man asked: O Abu Abdur Rahman! Is it "muddakkir" or "mudhakkir"? He replied, The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught me "muddakkir".
