What Has Been Reported Regarding Surah Al-Ma’idah
Hadith 8418
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَرَأَهَا وَكَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ فِيهَا أَنَّ النَّفْسَ بِالنَّفْسِ وَالْعَيْنَ بِالْعَيْنِ [سورة المائدة: ٤٥] نَصَبَ النَّفْسَ وَرَفَعَ الْعَيْنَ
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: {وَکَتَبْنَا عَلَیْہِمْ فِیْہَا اَنَّ النَّفْسَ بِالنَّفْسِ وَالْعَیْنُ بِالْعَیْنِ} He (peace and blessings be upon him) pronounced a fatḥa (zabar) at the end of "an-nafs" and a ḍamma (pesh) at the end of "al-‘ayn".
