Hadith 8357
عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ قَرَأَ أَلْفَ آيَةٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى كُتِبَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَعَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَالصِّدِّيقِينَ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ وَالصَّالِحِينَ وَحَسُنَ أُولَئِكَ رَفِيقًا إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى
Sayyiduna Mu’adh bin Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever recites a thousand verses for the pleasure of Allah, on the Day of Resurrection he will be recorded among the Prophets, the Truthful, the Martyrs, and the Righteous, and how excellent is the companionship of these people, Insha’Allah.
Hadith 8358
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا أَذِنَ اللَّهُ لِشَيْءٍ مَا أَذِنَ لِنَبِيٍّ أَنْ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ زَادَ فِي رِوَايَةٍ فِيمَا يَجْهَرُ بِهِ
Syedna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Allah Almighty has never listened to anything as attentively as He listens to the voice of His Prophet when he recites the Qur'an aloud.
Hadith 8359
عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَمْ يَتَغَنَّ بِالْقُرْآنِ قَالَ وَكِيعٌ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَعْنِي يَسْتَغْنِي بِهِ
Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever does not recite the Holy Qur’an melodiously is not from us. The narrator Waki’ explained its meaning: He becomes independent of people through it.
Hadith 8360
عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْجَاهِرُ بِالْقُرْآنِ كَالْجَاهِرِ بِالصَّدَقَةِ وَالْمُسِرُّ بِالْقُرْآنِ كَالْمُسِرِّ بِالصَّدَقَةِ
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The one who recites the Qur'an aloud is like one who gives charity openly, and the one who recites in a low voice is like one who gives charity secretly.
Hadith 8361
وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ ذُو الْبِجَادَيْنِ إِنَّهُ أَوَّاهٌ وَذَلِكَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ رَجُلًا كَثِيرَ الذِّكْرِ لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِي الْقُرْآنِ وَيَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ فِي الدُّعَاءِ
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said about a man named Dhu Bijadayn: "Indeed, he is one who supplicates abundantly." This man used to engage much in the recitation of the Noble Qur'an and remembrance, and when making supplication, he would raise his voice.
Hadith 8362
عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَلَّهُ أَشَدُّ أَذَنًا إِلَى الرَّجُلِ حَسَنِ الصَّوْتِ بِالْقُرْآنِ مِنْ صَاحِبِ الْقَيْنَةِ إِلَى قَيْنَتِهِ
Sayyiduna Fadala bin Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: Allah Almighty listens with great attention to the person who recites the Holy Qur'an with a beautiful voice, even more than the owner of a singing girl listens to his singing girl.
Hadith 8363
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَسْجِدَ فَسَمِعَ قِرَاءَةَ رَجُلٍ فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذَا قِيلَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ قَيْسٍ فَقَالَ لَقَدْ أُوتِيَ هَذَا مِنْ مَزَامِيرِ آلِ دَاوُدَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the mosque and heard the voice of a man reciting (the Qur'an). He asked: Who is this? Someone said: This is Abdullah bin Qais. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, he has been given the flutes of Dawud (peace be upon him).
Hadith 8364
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ الْأَشْعَرِيَّ أُعْطِيَ مِزْمَارًا مِنْ مَزَامِيرِ آلِ دَاوُدَ
Sayyiduna Buraidah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Abdullah bin Qais Ash'ari has been given one of the flutes from among the flutes of Dawud (peace be upon him).
