Hadith 8345
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is correct to envy only two persons: one is the person whom Allah has given the Qur'an and he acts upon it during the hours of the night and day, and the other is the person whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it in the right way during the day and night.
Hadith 8346
Sayyiduna Yazid bin Akhnas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no desire or aspiration to surpass one another except between two men: one to whom Allah Almighty has given the Qur’an, and he stands with it during the hours of the day and night and follows its commands, and another man, envying him, says: If Allah Almighty had granted me this blessing, I would have also taken care of it as he does. The second is the man to whom Allah Almighty has given wealth, and he spends it and gives charity, and another man says: If Allah Almighty gives me this blessing, I too will give charity like him. A man asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is your opinion about courage and bravery if it is found in a person, … the rest of the hadith was lost.
Hadith 8347
Narrated from Sayyiduna Mu’adh bin Anas al-Juhani, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever says “Subhanallahi al-‘Azim” (Glory be to Allah, the Magnificent), a plant is planted for him in Paradise. And whoever recites the Holy Qur’an, completes it, and acts upon its commands, then on the Day of Resurrection his parents will be crowned with such a crown whose light will be better than your worldly house into which the sun enters. (This is the status of the parents), so what do you think about the one who acts upon it himself?
