Hadith 8328
عَنْ عُثْمَانَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَفَّانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَفْضَلُكُمْ وَفِي لَفْظٍ إِنَّ خَيْرَكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ
Narrated from Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best and most virtuous among you is the one who learns the Holy Qur'an and teaches it.
Hadith 8329
وَعَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلُهُ
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates a similar Prophetic hadith from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).
Hadith 8330
وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَفِي لَفْظٍ مَنْ قَرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ فَاسْتَظْهَرَهُ وَحَفِظَهُ أَدْخَلَهُ اللَّهُ الْجَنَّةَ وَشَفَّعَهُ فِي عَشَرَةٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ كُلُّهُمْ قَدْ وَجَبَتْ لَهُمُ النَّارُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever recites the Holy Qur'an, learns it, and memorizes it, Allah Almighty will admit him into Paradise and will accept his intercession regarding ten members of his household for whom Hell had become obligatory.
Hadith 8331
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ الَّذِي لَيْسَ فِي جَوْفِهِ شَيْءٌ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ كَالْبَيْتِ الْخَرِبِ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The person who does not have any portion of the Noble Qur’an in his heart is like a deserted house.
Hadith 8332
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ ذُكِرَ رَجُلٌ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِخَيْرٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوَلَمْ تَرَوْهُ يَتَعَلَّمُ الْقُرْآنَ
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that a man was mentioned in a good manner in the presence of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Did you not see that he learns the Qur'an, (so why should he not be better).
Hadith 8333
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَوْ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا شَكَّ الْأَعْمَشُ قَالَ يُقَالُ لِصَاحِبِ الْقُرْآنِ اقْرَأْ وَارْقَهْ فَإِنَّ مَنْزِلَتَكَ عِنْدَ آخِرِ آيَةٍ تَقْرَؤُهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) or Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that it will be said to the companion of the Qur’an: Recite and ascend, and wherever you recite your last verse, that will be your station. Imam A‘mash had doubt regarding the name of the narrator of the hadith.
Hadith 8334
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يُقَالُ لِصَاحِبِ الْقُرْآنِ اقْرَأْ وَارْقَ وَرَتِّلْ كَمَا كُنْتَ تُرَتِّلُ فِي الدُّنْيَا فَإِنَّ مَنْزِلَتَكَ عِنْدَ آخِرِ آيَةٍ تَقْرَؤُهَا
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It will be said to the companion of the Qur'an, "Recite and ascend, and recite slowly and distinctly as you used to recite slowly and distinctly in the world. For indeed, your station will be at the last verse you recite."
Hadith 8335
عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقَالُ لِصَاحِبِ الْقُرْآنِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ اقْرَأْ وَاصْعَدْ فَيَقْرَأُ وَيَصْعَدُ بِكُلِّ آيَةٍ دَرَجَةً حَتَّى يَقْرَأَ آخِرَ شَيْءٍ مَعَهُ
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, it will be said to the companion of the Qur'an, when he enters Paradise, "Recite and ascend." He will continue to recite and ascend, rising in rank with every verse, until he reaches the end.
Hadith 8336
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ أَخَذَ السَّبْعَ الْأُوَلَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ فَهُوَ حِبْرٌ
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever memorizes the first seven surahs of the Holy Qur'an is a great scholar.
Hadith 8337
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ لِلَّهِ أَهْلِينَ مِنَ النَّاسِ فَقِيلَ مَنْ أَهْلُ اللَّهِ مِنْهُمْ قَالَ أَهْلُ الْقُرْآنِ هُمْ أَهْلُ اللَّهِ وَخَاصَّتُهُ
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the people, there are also the people of Allah. Someone asked: Who are the people of Allah? He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: The people of the Qur'an are the people of Allah and His chosen servants.
Hadith 8338
عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَعَلَّمُوا كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَتَعَاهَدُوا وَتَغَنَّوْا بِهِ فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَلُّتًا مِنَ الْمَخَاضِ فِي الْعُقُلِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Learn the Book of Allah and then safeguard it, and recite it in a melodious voice, that is, recite it beautifully. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, this Qur’an slips away from the hearts faster than a camel that breaks free from its tether.
Hadith 8339
عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَيْضًا قَالَ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا وَنَحْنُ فِي الصُّفَّةِ فَقَالَ أَيُّكُمْ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَغْدُوَ إِلَى بُطْحَانَ أَوْ الْعَقِيقِ فَيَأْتِيَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ بِنَاقَتَيْنِ كَوْمَاوَيْنِ زَهْرَاوَيْنِ فَيَأْخُذَهُمَا فِي غَيْرِ إِثْمٍ وَلَا قَطْعِ رَحِمٍ قَالَ قُلْنَا كُلُّنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يُحِبُّ ذَلِكَ قَالَ فَلَأَنْ يَغْدُوَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فَيَتَعَلَّمَ آيَتَيْنِ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ نَاقَتَيْنِ وَثَلَاثٌ خَيْرٌ مِنْ ثَلَاثٍ وَأَرْبَعٌ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَرْبَعٍ وَمِنْ أَعْدَادِهِنَّ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ
Narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: One day we were sitting in the Suffah when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and asked: Who among you would like to go early every morning to the valley of Bathan or the valley of Aqeeq and bring back two beautiful, large-humped she-camels from there without committing any sin or severing ties of kinship? We said: O Messenger of Allah! Each one of us would like that. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If any one of you goes to the mosque in the morning and learns two verses from the Book of Allah, it is better for him than two she-camels, and three verses are better than three she-camels, and four are better than four, and so on according to the number of verses, as many camels.
Hadith 8340
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوُهُ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates a similar hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 8341
عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ مُعَاذًا وَأَبَا مُوسَى إِلَى الْيَمَنِ وَأَمَرَهُمَا أَنْ يُعَلِّمَا النَّاسَ الْقُرْآنَ
Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) towards Yemen and instructed them to teach the people the Holy Qur'an.
