Hadith 8211
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In the last era, there will be some people who will dye their hair black, like the feathers on the chests of pigeons; such people will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise.
Hadith 8212
Muhammad bin Sirin says that Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about the dyeing of the hair of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had only a few white hairs, but Sayyiduna Abu Bakr and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to dye their hair with a mixture of henna and katam after him. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) brought his father, Sayyiduna Abu Quhafa (may Allah be pleased with him), to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); this was on the day of the conquest of Makkah. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) carried him and placed him before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you had let the elder remain in his house, we would have gone to him ourselves to honor Abu Bakr. Then Abu Quhafa accepted Islam. His beard and head hair were white like the thaghamah plant, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Change the color of these two, but avoid black.
Hadith 8213
(Second chain) Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Change the color of white hair, but do not let blackness come near it.
Hadith 8214
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that on the day of the conquest of Makkah, Sayyiduna Abu Quhafa (may Allah be pleased with him) was brought to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The hair of his head was white like the Thaghamah plant. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Take him to one of his women so that she may dye his hair and change its color, but keep him away from black dye.
