بَابُ اسْتِحْبَابِ الطَّيْبِ وَمَا هُوَ الطَّيِّبُ الطَّيبِ
Chapter on the Recommendation of Perfume and What Is the Best Perfume
Hadith 8155
عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أُتِيَ بِطِيبٍ لَمْ يَرُدَّهُ
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when fragrance was brought to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) would not refuse it.
Hadith 8156
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) قَالَ مَا عُرِضَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ طِيبٌ قَطُّ فَرَدَّهُ
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that there was never an occasion when fragrance was presented before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and he rejected it.
Hadith 8157
وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ حُبِّبَ إِلَيَّ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا النِّسَاءُ وَالطِّيبُ وَجُعِلَ قُرَّةُ عَيْنِي فِي الصَّلَاةِ
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the things of this world, women and perfume have been made beloved to me, and the coolness of my eyes has been placed in prayer.
Hadith 8158
عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ ذُكِرَ الْمِسْكُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ هُوَ أَطْيَبُ الطِّيبِ
Syedna Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that musk was mentioned in the presence of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is the best of all fragrances."
Hadith 8159
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَاهُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا بِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ طَيَّبْتِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ بِأَطْيَبِ الطِّيبِ
Sayyiduna Urwah says: I asked Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) which perfume she used to apply to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). She said: I used to apply the best perfume.
Hadith 8160
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى وَبِيصِ الْمِسْكِ فِي رَأْسِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: It is as if I am seeing the shine of musk on the blessed head of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was in the state of Ihram.
