Hadith 7974
Sayyiduna Buraidah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man wearing a gold ring on his hand and said: What has happened to you? You are wearing the ornaments of the people of Paradise (which are not permissible in this world)? He said: Then I came to you, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), wearing a brass ring, but this time you said: I sense the smell of idolaters from you. He said: Then, O Messenger of Allah, from what should I make a ring? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Have it made from silver.
Hadith 7975
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a gold ring on one of his companions and turned away from him because of it. He threw it away and made a ring of iron. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said about it: "This is even worse than that; this is the adornment of the people of Hell." He took that off as well and had a ring made of silver. Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent.
Hadith 7976
(Second chain) Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that I wore a gold ring. When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw it, it was as if he disliked it. I took it off and threw it away. Then I had an iron ring made. Regarding this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is even more impure than that; it is very impure." So I threw that away too and had a silver ring made. Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent.
Hadith 7977
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man wearing a gold ring on his hand and said: Remove it. He removed it and had a ring made of iron, but regarding this the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This is even worse than that. Then he had a ring made of silver, and upon this the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent.
