Hadith 7928
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that she made a black woolen cloak for the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then she mentioned the blackness of the cloak and the fairness of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wore that cloak. When he perspired and sensed the smell of wool, he took it off and threw it away. In fact, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) liked cleanliness and pleasant fragrance.
Hadith 7929
Sayyiduna Abu Rimthah Taymi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I was with my father and I came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When we met him, he (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting in the shade of the Ka'bah and he was wearing two green sheets.
Hadith 7930
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade a man from applying saffron.
Hadith 7931
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I came to my family at night, while my hands were cracked, and my family applied saffron. When I went to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the morning and greeted him with salam, he (peace and blessings be upon him) did not reply to my salam nor did he say "welcome," but rather said: "Wash it off." I went and washed it, but some traces of saffron still remained on me. Nevertheless, I came again and greeted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with salam. He (peace and blessings be upon him) neither replied to my salam nor said "welcome," but rather said: "Wash it off." So I went and washed it off, then came again to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and greeted him with salam. This time, he (peace and blessings be upon him) replied to my salam and said "welcome," and said: "The angels neither attend the funeral of a disbeliever, nor do they come near a person who is covered in saffron, nor do they come near a person in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah)." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted concession to the one in a state of janabah that if he wishes to sleep or eat and drink, he should perform wudu (ablution).
Hadith 7932
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to dye his clothes with saffron and also apply saffron as oil. When he was asked why he dyed his clothes with saffron and used saffron as oil, he said: The reason is that I have seen that among all colors, the most beloved color to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was saffron, which he (peace and blessings be upon him) used to apply to his clothes and also use as oil.
Hadith 7933
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted dyed clothes, as long as their color does not transfer onto the body nor leave a stain on the body.
