Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) intended to prohibit Hajj Tamattu', that is, performing Umrah along with Hajj, but Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: This is not your right, because we performed Hajj Tamattu' with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and he did not prohibit us, so Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) abandoned his intention to prohibit it. Then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) intended to prohibit striped garments, because they were dyed with urine, but Sayyiduna Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: You do not have the authority for this, because the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wore such clothing and we also wore it during his blessed era.
