It is narrated from Yazid Farsi, he says: I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream; this was at the time when Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) was still alive and Yazid used to write the Mushaf. I told Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I had seen the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream. He said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Satan does not have the power to assume my form; whoever saw me in a dream, indeed saw me. Then Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Is it possible for you to describe the appearance of the man you saw? Yazid says: I said: Yes, I saw a man of medium height, his flesh and skin were wheat-colored with a tinge of whiteness, he smiled in a beautiful manner, his eyes were kohl-lined, his face and features were extremely beautiful and rounded, and his beard was full, covering his chest. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: If you had seen him (peace and blessings be upon him) while awake, you could not have described him better than this (i.e., you have described his appearance exactly right).

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever sees me in a dream has indeed seen the truth, because Satan cannot assume my likeness. In another narration: He cannot adopt my resemblance. In another narration: He cannot, by adopting my similarity, implant my image in the mind. Thus, surely the good and true dream of a believing servant is one seventieth part of prophethood.

Asim says: My father told me that he informed Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I have seen the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream. He said: Then you have truly seen him. I said: By Allah! I have seen the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then I mentioned the appearance of Sayyiduna Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), that (the person I saw) resembled Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him). By Allah! I described him and the way he walked. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: This appearance indeed resembles the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
