Hadith 7845
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), narrating the dream of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: While I was asleep, I saw in a dream that two gold bangles were placed in my hands. I became anxious because of them and I disliked them. I was permitted to blow upon them, so when I blew upon them, they flew away. I interpreted this as two false prophets who would appear. Ubaydullah says: One of them is Aswad Ansi, whom Fayruz killed in Yemen, and the other is Musaylimah the Liar.
Hadith 7846
Syedna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Once I was asleep when the treasures of the earth were given to me, and two gold bangles were placed in my hands, which weighed heavily upon me and caused me great distress. It was revealed to me that you should blow upon them, so when I blew on them, they flew away. I interpreted this to mean that these are the two great liars between whom I am; one is the man of Sana’a, i.e., Aswad Ansi, and the other is the man of Yamamah, i.e., Musaylimah the Liar.
Hadith 7847
Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) in the same manner.
Hadith 7848
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a dream in which two angels came to him. One of them sat at his feet and the other at his head. The one who sat at the feet said to the angel who sat at the head, "Describe the example of him (the Prophet, peace be upon him) and his ummah." He replied, "The example of him (the Prophet, peace be upon him) and his ummah is like a people who reach a barren plain. They have neither provisions to cross this wilderness nor the means to return. While they are in this state, a man comes to them, dressed in striped garments, and says, 'Shall I take you to a lush, green garden with a most delightful view? Will you follow me?' The people say, 'Yes, we will go.' He leads them and brings them to lush, green gardens and beautiful ponds. They eat and drink there and become healthy and robust. Then he reminds them, 'When I met you, in what condition were you? Then you trusted me, and I promised you that I would bring you to lush, green gardens and beautiful ponds if you followed me.' The people say, 'Indeed, it happened just as you said.' He then says, 'Now I tell you again: beyond these gardens are even greener gardens and more beautiful ponds. Follow me.' One group says, 'He has spoken the truth; we will follow.' The other group says, 'This is enough for us; we prefer to remain here and do not go further.'"
Hadith 7849
Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I was sleeping when a bowl of milk was brought to me. I drank from it until the milk began to flow from my fingernails. Then what remained, I gave to Sayyiduna Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: O Messenger of Allah! How have you interpreted it? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It means knowledge.
Hadith 7850
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated the dream of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I saw that people were gathered and Abu Bakr stood up and drew one or two buckets of water from the well. There was some weakness in his drawing, may Allah forgive him. Then Umar drew water, and the bucket turned into a very large one. I did not see anyone among the people as strong as him. (He drew so much water that) the people made their camels kneel down.
Hadith 7851
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a dream at night that there is a righteous man, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) became attached to him, then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) became attached to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) became attached to Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When we heard this and stood up from the presence of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we said: The righteous man is the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and those who became attached to him one after another are meant to be the guardians and caliphs of this religion, with which Allah Almighty sent His Prophet.
Hadith 7852
Aswad bin Hilal narrates from a man of his tribe, this man used to say during the caliphate of Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) would not pass away without becoming the caliph. We asked him: How do you know this? He said: I heard from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I saw in a dream at night that the weight of my three companions was measured. The weight of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was measured and he outweighed the others, then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was weighed and he too was heavy in weight, then Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) was weighed and his weight was somewhat less, nevertheless, he is righteous and pious.
Hadith 7853
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave his sword, Dhu’l-Fiqar, as a reward on the day of the Battle of Badr. This is the same sword about which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a dream on the day of Uhud. While describing its details, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I saw a crack and a breach in my sword Dhu’l-Fiqar; its interpretation is that there will be a breach among you (i.e., there will be defeat). I saw that I had mounted a ram behind me; I interpreted it as a brave man from the enemy army will be martyred. I saw that I was wearing a secure coat of mail; I interpreted it as Madinah will remain protected. And I saw that a cow was being slaughtered; Allah is the Bestower of good, and Allah is the Bestower of good. Whatever the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, that is exactly what happened.
Hadith 7854
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I saw a dream, as a sleeping person sees a dream, that I had seated a ram behind me and the blade of my sword was broken. I interpreted this to mean that a man from the enemy army would be killed and a man from my household would be martyred.
Hadith 7855
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I saw in a dream that there was a basket of dates, I gathered some dates from it and put them in my mouth, I found in them such a pit that caused me discomfort, so I spat those dates out of my mouth, then I took more and gathered them, in them too was a pit, I spat them out as well, then I took more, gathered them and put them in my mouth, in them too I found a pit and spat them out. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Allow me to interpret this. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Interpret it. He said: This refers to your army which you have sent; it will return safely and bring spoils of war, they will meet a man who will invoke your guarantee, they will let him go, then they will meet another man, he too will invoke your guarantee, they will let him go as well, then they will meet another man, he too will refer to your guarantee, they will let him go as well. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The angel has told me this very interpretation.
Hadith 7856
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I saw in a dream at night that I was in the house of Rafi’ bin ‘Uqbah, and Ibn Tab dates were brought to us. I interpreted this as meaning that we will be granted elevation in this world and a good outcome in the Hereafter, and that our religion has attained great excellence.
Hadith 7857
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I saw a black woman with disheveled hair leaving Madinah and settling at Mahya’ah, that is, the place of Juhfah. I interpreted this as meaning that the epidemic of Madinah had been transferred there.
Hadith 7858
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I saw in a dream that I was at the Ka'bah. I saw a man of wheat-colored complexion, extremely handsome, who could be likened to the most beautiful of men. His hair reached his ears, was combed, and drops of water were falling from his hair. He was performing tawaf of the House of Allah with his hands placed on the shoulders of two men, and his hair was wavy. I asked: Who is this man? They said: This is the Messiah, son of Mary (peace be upon him). Then I saw another man whose hair was very curly, he was blind in his right eye, and his eye was like a protruding grape. Among the people, he most resembled Ibn Qatan. He too had his hands on the shoulders of two men and was performing tawaf of the House of Allah. I asked: Who is this? They said: This is the Messiah Dajjal.
