Hadith 7830
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: A man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I saw a dream at night, I saw that there was a canopy, from which ghee and honey were dripping, and I saw that people were collecting it in handfuls, some taking more and some less. There was a rope, which was reaching from the earth to the sky. I saw you holding it and climbing up, then another man held it and he also climbed up, then a third man held it and he also climbed up, then a man held it but the rope broke, then it was joined again.
Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! May my parents be sacrificed for you, allow me to interpret it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (Alright) you interpret it. Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The canopy is Islam and the honey and ghee dripping from it refers to the sweetness of the Qur’an. So some people will learn more of the Qur’an and some less, and the rope reaching from the sky to the earth is the truth, upon which you are established. Allah Almighty will exalt you through it. Then a man will hold it, he will also be elevated with it, then another man will hold it, he will also be elevated with it, then a third man will hold it, then it will break. Then it will be joined, then he will be elevated with it. O Messenger of Allah! May my parents be sacrificed for you, tell me, is the interpretation I have given correct or incorrect? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Some parts you have interpreted correctly and in some you have made a mistake. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah! You will surely tell me my mistake. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Abu Bakr! Do not swear.
Hadith 7831
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that I saw in a dream that there was a piece of silk in my hand; wherever in Paradise I pointed towards, it would carry me there. When Sayyida Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) related this dream before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he said: (The interpretation of this dream is that) your brother Abdullah is a righteous man.
Hadith 7832
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that during the blessed life of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when anyone saw a dream, he would come and relate that dream to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I also wished that I would see a dream and relate it to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I was an unmarried youth and during the blessed era of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), I used to sleep in the mosque. I saw in a dream that two angels had caught me and were taking me towards the fire. There was a wall there, like the wall of a well, and it had two pillars. There were some people in it whom I recognized. Seeing this, I began to say: I seek refuge with Allah from the fire, I seek refuge with Allah from the fire. Those two angels were met by another angel. He said to me: Abdullah, you must not fear. I related this dream to my sister, Sayyida Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her). She mentioned it to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Abdullah is a good man, just one thing is that if he were to begin standing (in prayer) at night (it would be very good). Salim says: (After hearing this interpretation) Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) would rarely sleep at night (meaning he would spend most of the night in worship).
Hadith 7833
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that I saw in a dream, as a sleeper sees, that it was as if there was ghee on one of my two fingers and honey on the other, and I was licking both fingers. When morning came, I mentioned this dream to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He gave the interpretation that you will read two books: the Torah and the Noble Qur’an. Thus, he used to read both these books.
Hadith 7834
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, who says: I saw in a dream that I was writing Surah Sad. When I reached the verse of prostration, I saw that the inkwell, the pen, and everything around me performed prostration. When I related this dream to the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, after that he, peace and blessings be upon him, always made a point to perform the prostration of recitation in this Surah.
Hadith 7835
‘Amarah bin Khuzaymah, this is Sayyiduna Khuzaymah bin Thabit al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), about whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) declared his testimony equal to the testimony of two men. So ‘Amarah bin Khuzaymah narrates from his uncle, who was a Companion, that Sayyiduna Khuzaymah bin Thabit al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) prostrated on the forehead of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream. When he came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned this dream to him, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) lay down and Sayyiduna Khuzaymah prostrated on his (the Prophet’s) forehead.
Hadith 7836
(Second chain) Sayyiduna Khuzaymah (may Allah be pleased with him) saw in a dream that he was prostrating on the blessed forehead of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him of this. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) lay down and said to him: "Make your dream come true." So he prostrated on the forehead of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 7837
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Khuzaymah bin Thabit Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I saw in a dream that I was prostrating on the forehead of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When I related this dream to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: Indeed, the soul does meet the soul. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his head until Sayyiduna Khuzaymah placed his forehead upon the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) forehead.
Hadith 7838
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Khuzaymah bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw in a dream that he was kissing the Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). So he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him of this. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took hold of him, and he kissed the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) forehead.
Hadith 7839
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to like good dreams very much. Sometimes he himself would ask: "Has any of you seen a dream?" And when someone had seen one, he would himself inquire about it. If it was not harmful, that person would become more beloved to him because of that dream. A woman came and said: "O Messenger of Allah! It is as if I entered Paradise and there I heard the sound of something falling, which caused Paradise to tremble. When I looked, suddenly the son of so-and-so and the son of so-and-so—until she counted twelve men—appeared. Before this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had actually sent a detachment. The woman describes in her dream that they were brought, they were given dirty and tattered clothes, and blood was flowing from their veins. It was said about them: 'Take them to the river Baydakh or the river Baydaj.' They dived into it, and when they came out, their faces were shining like the full moon. Then golden chairs were brought, they sat on them, and a bowl was brought in which there were Doka dates. They ate from it, and whenever they turned it to any side, they found only fruit and kept eating. I too was eating with them. Meanwhile, the one who brought the actual news about that detachment arrived and described all the details, mentioning so-and-so, so-and-so, so-and-so—until he counted twelve men. All of them had been martyred. This was exactly the same number as the woman had described. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bring this woman to me." He said to her: "Tell your dream." The woman narrated it in the same way as she had described it to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
