Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no bad omen in the owl, no contagiousness in disease, and no evil omen; if there were to be any evil omen, it would be in a woman, an animal, and a house.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is bad omen in three things: the horse, the woman, and the house. Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no contagious disease, nor is there any bad omen, but bad omen is only in three things: a woman, a house, and an animal."

Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d Sa’idi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: If there were to be any ill omen, it would be in the horse, the woman, and the dwelling.

Hadith 7780
Abu Hassan A’raj narrates that two men from Banu ‘Amir came to Sayyidah ‘A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) and they said: Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If there is bad omen, it is in the woman, the animal, and the house. Sayyidah ‘A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) became angry and said: By the One Who sent down the Qur’an upon Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him)! He did not say it like this, rather the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were: In the days of ignorance, people used to say that bad omen is in the woman, the house, and the animal. Then Sayyidah ‘A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) recited this verse: {مَا أَصَابَ مِنْ مُصِیبَۃٍ فِی الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِی أَنْفُسِکُمْ إِلَّا فِی کِتَابٍ مِّنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ نَّبْرَأَھَا اِنَّ ذَالِکَ عَلَی اللّٰہِ یَسِیْرٌ۔} … No calamity befalls on the earth nor in yourselves but it is inscribed in a Book before We bring it into existence; verily, that is easy for Allah.
