Hadith 7754
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no contagious disease, no bad omen, no evil in the month of Safar, and no reality in the owl (superstition). A Bedouin said: Then how is it that camels walk in the sand like deer (i.e., they are healthy), but when a mangy camel mixes with them, they also get mange? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (Tell me) who gave the first camel mange?
Hadith 7755
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said three times: No disease is contagious. A Bedouin stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah! When the first sore of mange appears on the lips or tail of a camel, then soon the whole big camel becomes mangy (this means that the disease is contagious)? Upon hearing this, you remained silent for a while and then said: Who caused the first camel to become sick? Neither is any disease contagious, nor is there any bad omen in the owl, nor is there any reality in Safar. Allah Almighty has created every soul and has written its life, death, calamity, and sustenance.
Hadith 7756
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood among us and said: Nothing is contagious for anyone.
Hadith 7757
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no contagious disease, nor is there any (evil omen in the month of) Safar, nor any ghoul. And Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) has stated that by Safar is meant the stomach; when he was asked what is meant by this statement, he said: It refers to the worms of the stomach. Then he did not define ghoul, but Abu Zubair, on his own, said that by ghoul is meant that thing which people call a witch or a jinn.
Hadith 7758
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no contagious disease, no bad omen, and no ghoul.
Hadith 7759
Syedna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no contagious disease, no bad omen, no (evil in) Safar, and no reality in the owl. Simak narrates that by Safar is meant a worm that is produced in the human stomach. A man said: O Messenger of Allah! Among a hundred camels, if one camel gets mange, then because of it all become mangy. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Well, tell me first, who caused the first one to become sick?
Hadith 7760
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no bad omen, no contagious disease, no evil in the owl, and no reality in Safar. A man said: O Messenger of Allah! When we put a scab-ridden goat among other goats, the others also become scab-ridden. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then tell me, from where did the first goat get the disease?
Hadith 7761
