Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever eats seven ‘Ajwa dates from between the two Harrahs of Madinah in the morning, nothing will harm him for the whole day until evening, and if he eats these dates in the evening, nothing will harm him until morning. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O ‘Amir! Just make sure about what you are narrating from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: I bear witness that I have not lied about Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him), nor has Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) lied about the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I was with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and along with me there were forty-two companions present with him. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed prayer at the Maqam Ibrahim, and we were sitting behind him waiting for him. When he finished the prayer, he bent down between the Maqam Ibrahim and the Ka'bah as if he was picking up something. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) came to his companions. They moved to stand up, but he (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured with his hand for them to remain seated, so they sat down. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Did you see, when I finished the prayer, I bent down between the Ka'bah as if I was picking up something? The people said: O Messenger of Allah! Yes, we saw. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Paradise was presented before me, and I have never seen such a beautiful sight. A bunch of grapes was passed by me, and I liked it very much. I bent down to take it, but it did not come into my hand. If I had taken it, I would have given it to you so that you could eat the fruit of Paradise among yourselves. Know that the mushroom is a cure for the eyes, and the Ajwa date is among the fruits of Paradise, and also know that this black seed, when eaten mixed with salt, is a cure for every disease except death.
