Hadith 7629
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الدَّوَاءِ الْخَبِيثِ يَعْنِي السُّمَّ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade treatment with a foul medicine; by this, he (peace and blessings be upon him) meant poison.
Hadith 7630
عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ بِأَرْضِنَا أَعْنَابًا نَعْتَصِرُهَا فَنَشْرَبُ مِنْهَا قَالَ لَا فَعَاوَدْتُهُ فَقَالَ لَا فَقُلْتُ إِنَّا نَسْتَشْفِي بِهَا لِلْمَرِيضِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ ذَاكَ لَيْسَ شِفَاءً وَلَكِنَّهُ دَاءٌ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Tariq bin Suwaid Hazrami (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I said, "O Messenger of Allah! In our land there are grapes, we squeeze them (to make wine) and then drink it." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No." I repeated my statement, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No." I said: "We seek cure for the sick through it." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, it is not a cure, rather it is itself a disease."
Hadith 7631
عَنْ عَقْلَمَةَ بْنِ وَائِلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ خَثْعَمَ يُقَالُ لَهُ سُوَيْدُ بْنُ طَارِقٍ عَنِ الْخَمْرِ فَنَهَاهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّمَا هُوَ شَيْءٌ نَصْنَعُهُ دَوَاءً فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّمَا هِيَ دَاءٌ
Sayyiduna Wa'il bin Hujr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I was present when a man from the tribe of Khath'am, whose name was Suwaid bin Tariq, asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about alcohol. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade him from it. He said: Can we use it as medicine? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: It is itself a disease.
Hadith 7632
عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ ذَكَرَ طَبِيبٌ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَوَاءً وَذَكَرَ الضِّفْدَعَ يُجْعَلُ فِيهِ فَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ قَتْلِ الضِّفْدَعِ
Sayyiduna Abdullah Rahman bin Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a physician mentioned a medicine to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and said that a frog is also included in it. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade killing the frog.
