Abu Tufail says: We said to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): Tell us that thing which the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told you people in secrecy. He said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not tell us anything in secrecy that was hidden from the people. However, I heard him (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: Allah curses the one who sacrifices for other than Allah; Allah curses the person who gives shelter to an innovator; Allah curses the man who curses his parents; and Allah curses the person who changes the landmarks of the earth.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) met Zaid bin Amr bin Nufail at the lower side of the Baldah valley. This was before revelation had descended upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) presented a dining mat before Zaid, and meat was also placed on it. However, Zaid refused to eat and said: "I do not eat that which you slaughter in the name of your idols. I only eat that upon which Allah’s name is mentioned." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated this hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
