Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir and Sayyiduna Hudhayfah bin Yaman (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrate that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whatever your bow hunts, eat it.

Sayyiduna Abu Tha’labah Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you throw your arrow at game and it remains hidden from you for three days, and then you find it, it may be eaten, provided it has not become putrid.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Adi bin Hatim Ta’i (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that our land is very suitable for hunting, if any of us shoots an arrow at game and the game disappears for a day or two, and then it is found and the same arrow is present in it? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you find your arrow in it and there are no marks of any other arrow, and you know that it was your arrow that killed it, then you may eat it. In another narration, it is stated: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you see your arrow lodged in it and no beast has eaten from it, then you may eat that game.

It is also narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Adi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: If you shoot an arrow at game, but after being struck by the arrow it falls into water and dies, then do not eat it.
