Chapter on What Has Been Reported Regarding the Curse on Wine and Its Drinker and Being Deprived of the Wine of the Hereafter Unless One Repents
Hadith 7556
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا يَقُولُ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْمِرْبَدِ فَخَرَجْتُ مَعَهُ فَكُنْتُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَأَقْبَلَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَتَأَخَّرْتُ لَهُ فَكَانَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَكُنْتُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَتَنَحَّيْتُ لَهُ فَكَانَ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ فَأَتَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمِرْبَدَ فَإِذَا بِأَزْقَاقٍ عَلَى الْمِرْبَدِ فِيهَا خَمْرٌ قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ فَدَعَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْمُدْيَةِ قَالَ وَمَا عَرَفْتُ الْمُدْيَةَ إِلَّا يَوْمَئِذٍ فَأَمَرَ بِالزِّقَاقِ فَشُقَّتْ ثُمَّ قَالَ لُعِنَتِ الْخَمْرُ وَشَارِبُهَا وَسَاقِيهَا وَبَائِعُهَا وَمُبْتَاعُهَا وَحَامِلُهَا وَالْمَحْمُولَةُ إِلَيْهِ وَعَاصِرُهَا وَمُعْتَصِرُهَا وَآكِلُ ثَمَنِهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went towards an enclosure, and I was with him. I was on his right side. When Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came, I moved back, and now he was on the right side of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I was on his left side. Then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came, so I moved aside, and now on the left side of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the enclosure, and there were some skins in the enclosure in which there was wine. Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked me to bring a knife, and for the knife, he used the word "mudiyyah." I learned the meaning of this word that day. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered, and the skins were cut open. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Curse has been pronounced upon wine, its drinker, the one who serves it, the one who sells it, the one who buys it, the one who carries it, the one to whom it is carried, the one who squeezes it, the one for whom it is squeezed, and the one who consumes its price.
Hadith 7557
وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ شَرِبَ الْخَمْرَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَلَمْ يَتُبْ مِنْهُ حُرِمَهَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ لَمْ يُسْقَهَا
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever drank alcohol in the world and did not repent from it, then he will be deprived in the Hereafter and this drink will not be given to him.
Hadith 7558
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو بْنِ الْعَاصِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مَنَّانٌ وَلَا مُدْمِنُ خَمْرٍ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The one who reminds others of his favors, and the one who habitually drinks alcohol, will not enter Paradise.
Hadith 7559
عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى يَعْنِي الْأَشْعَرِيَّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ثَلَاثَةٌ لَا يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ مُدْمِنُ خَمْرٍ وَقَاطِعُ رَحِمٍ وَمُصَدِّقٌ بِالسِّحْرِ وَمَنْ مَاتَ مُدْمِنًا لِلْخَمْرِ سَقَاهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنْ نَهْرِ الْغُوطَةِ قِيلَ وَمَا نَهْرُ الْغُوطَةِ قَالَ نَهْرٌ يَجْرِي مِنْ فُرُوجِ الْمُومِسَاتِ يُؤْذِي أَهْلَ النَّارِ رِيحُ فُرُوجِهِمْ
Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Three types of people will not enter Paradise: one who habitually drinks alcohol, one who severs ties of kinship, and one who affirms magic. And whoever dies while habitually drinking alcohol, Allah Almighty will make him drink from the Ghuta River. Someone asked: What is the Ghuta River? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: It is a river that flows from the private parts of immoral women; the dwellers of Hell will be tormented by the foul smell of their private parts.
