Hadith 7503
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ الْخَمْرُ مِنْ هَاتَيْنِ الشَّجَرَتَيْنِ النَّخْلَةِ وَالْعِنَبَةِ وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَنْبِذُوا التَّمْرَ وَالزَّبِيبَ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَنْبِذُوا الْبُسْرَ وَالتَّمْرَ جَمِيعًا وَانْتَبِذُوا كُلَّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ عَلَى حِدَةٍ
. Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Wine is made from these two trees—date and grape. Furthermore, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not prepare nabidh by mixing dates and raisins together; prepare nabidh by mixing unripe dates and ripe dates, but make nabidh from each of them separately.
Hadith 7504
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْبُسْرِ وَالتَّمْرِ أَنْ يُخْلَطَا جَمِيعًا وَعَنِ الزَّبِيبِ وَالتَّمْرِ أَنْ يُخْلَطَا جَمِيعًا قَالَ وَكَتَبَ إِلَى أَهْلِ جُرَشٍ أَنْ لَا يَخْلِطُوا الزَّبِيبَ وَالتَّمْرَ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade making nabidh by mixing unripe dates with ripe dates, and by mixing dried dates with dates, and he wrote to the people of Yemen that they should not make nabidh by mixing dried dates with dates.
Hadith 7505
عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْجَرِّ أَنْ يُنْبَذَ فِيهِ وَعَنِ التَّمْرِ وَالْبُسْرِ وَعَنِ التَّمْرِ وَالزَّبِيبِ أَنْ يُخْلَطَ بَيْنَهُمَا
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade making nabidh in a pitcher, and from mixing dates and grapes to make nabidh, and from mixing unripe and ripe dates to make nabidh.
Hadith 7506
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ نَقِيعِ الْبُسْرِ وَهُوَ الزَّهْوُ
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the nabidh (fermented drink) of busr dates; these are the dates which, after ripening, become red or yellow.
Hadith 7507
عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تَنْتَبِذُوا الرُّطَبَ وَالزَّهْوَ وَالتَّمْرَ وَالزَّبِيبَ جَمِيعًا وَانْتَبِذُوا كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ عَلَى حِدَتِهِ قَالَ يَحْيَى فَسَأَلْتُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ فَأَخْبَرَنِي عَنْ أَبِيهِ بِذَلِكَ
Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not make nabidh (a drink) by mixing fresh dates and unripe dates, or dried dates and raisins together; rather, make nabidh from each one separately. Yahya bin Kathir says: I asked Abdullah bin Abi Qatadah about this, and he narrated to me from his father regarding it.
Hadith 7508
عَنْ كَبْشَةَ بِنْتِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ قُلْتُ لِأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَخْبِرِينِي مَا نَهَى عَنْهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَهْلَهُ قَالَتْ نَهَانَا أَنْ نَعْجُمَ النَّوَى طَبْخًا وَأَنْ نَخْلِطَ الزَّبِيبَ وَالتَّمْرَ
It is narrated from Sayyida Kabsha bint Maryam (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: I asked Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyida Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) to tell me about something from which the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) forbade his household. She said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) forbade us from eating cooked date stones and from making nabidh by mixing dried dates and fresh dates together.
Hadith 7509
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالْحَنْتَمِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ وَالنَّقِيرِ وَأَنْ يُخْلَطَ الْبَلَحُ وَالزَّهْوُ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the use of vessels made from gourds, pitchers, tar-coated vessels, and vessels carved from date-palm trunks. He (peace and blessings be upon him) also forbade making nabidh (fermented drink) by mixing unripe and ripe dates together.
Hadith 7510
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِرَجُلٍ نَشْوَانَ وَفِي لَفْظٍ سَكْرَانَ فَقَالَ قَدْ شَرِبْتُ زَبِيبًا وَتَمْرًا قَالَ فَجَلَدَهُ الْحَدَّ وَنَهَى أَنْ يُخْلَطَا
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that a man who was intoxicated was brought to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: I made nabidh (a fermented drink) by mixing dried grapes and dates and drank it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prescribed the hadd (punishment) for him and forbade making nabidh by mixing the two together.
Hadith 7511
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَلَا إِنَّ الْمُزَّاتِ حَرَامٌ وَالْمُزَّاتُ خَلْطُ التَّمْرِ وَالْبُسْرِ
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Beware, mixing (different types of dates) is forbidden. And mixing is when dried dates and ripe fresh dates are combined to make nabidh.
Hadith 7512
عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّهُ كَرِهَ نَبِيذَ الْبُسْرِ وَحْدَهُ وَقَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْمُزَّاتِ فَأَكْرَهُ أَنْ يَكُونَ الْبُسْرُ وَحْدَهُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he considered it disliked to make nabidh (fermented drink) from only busr dates, and he said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade from mixing (different types of dates), so I also dislike nabidh made only from busr.
