3 hadith
Hadith 7489
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us, and Sayyiduna Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) was riding behind him. We served him nabidh prepared in a waterskin, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) drank it and said: "It is very good; prepare nabidh in this manner."
Hadith 7490
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Nabidh used to be prepared for the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a waterskin; when a waterskin was not available, Nabidh would be prepared in a stone vessel. And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade preparing Nabidh in vessels made from gourds, in hollowed-out trunks, in earthen pots, and in tar-coated vessels.
Hadith 7491
Husayn bin Abdullah and Dawud bin Ali bin Abdullah bin Abbas both narrate with some variation that a man called out to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) while people were sitting around him. He said: Do you use nabidh out of desire to act upon the Sunnah, or do you find it easier to use than milk and honey? Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the house of Sayyiduna Abbas and said: Give me something to drink. They said: Nabidh has been prepared, but it has been mixed with fingers and is somewhat dirty; shall we not give you milk or honey instead? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Give me to drink what you are giving to the people. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came, and with him were some of the Muhajirun and Ansar. Two water skins of nabidh were brought. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his blessed head quickly while drinking and said: You have done well; prepare it like this. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The expression of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) approval in this matter is more beloved to me than if these valleys were to flow with milk and honey.
