It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salman Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I read in the Torah that washing hands after eating is a source of blessing. I mentioned this to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him of what I had read in the Torah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The blessing of food is that ablution is performed before it and also after it.

Syedna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever sleeps while there is grease on his hand and he has not washed it, and then some harmful thing causes him harm, then he should only blame himself.

Hadith 7381
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by us after relieving himself. We invited him (peace and blessings be upon him) to eat some Ajwa dates, which we had placed before us in a shield. He (peace and blessings be upon him) ate from them, and he had not washed his hands before eating them.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), he says: We were with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he went to the place of relieving himself and after relieving himself, he came out. Food was brought for him. Someone said: O Messenger of Allah! Will you not perform ablution? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I do not have to pray now that I should perform ablution. I have only been commanded to perform ablution when I have to pray.
