Hadith 7328
عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ خَيْبَرَ أَصَابَ النَّاسَ مَجَاعَةٌ فَأَخَذُوا الْحُمُرَ الْإِنْسِيَّةَ فَذَبَحُوهَا وَمَلَئُوا مِنْهَا الْقُدُورَ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ جَابِرٌ فَأَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَكَفَأْنَا الْقُدُورَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ سَيَأْتِيكُمْ بِرِزْقٍ هُوَ أَحَلُّ لَكُمْ مِنْ ذَا وَأَطْيَبُ مِنْ ذَا قَالَ فَكَفَأْنَا يَوْمَئِذٍ الْقُدُورَ وَهِيَ تَغْلِي فَحَرَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْحُمُرَ الْإِنْسِيَّةَ وَلُحُومَ الْبِغَالِ وَكُلَّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنَ السِّبَاعِ وَكُلَّ ذِي مِخْلَبٍ مِنَ الطَّيْرِ وَحَرَّمَ الْمُجَثَّمَةَ وَالْخِلْسَةَ وَالنُّهْبَةَ
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that on the day of Khaybar, the people were extremely hungry, so they slaughtered and cooked domestic donkeys, filling pots with their meat and began to cook them. When this matter reached the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that the pots be overturned, so we overturned the pots. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty will soon grant you sustenance better and more lawful than this. We overturned the pots that day while they were boiling. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on that day declared as forbidden: the meat of domestic donkeys, mules, every predatory animal with fangs, every bird that hunts with its talons, any animal that has been tied and used as a target, any animal that a predator has seized and it dies, and looted property. He (peace and blessings be upon him) declared all these things forbidden.
Hadith 7329
عَنِ الْعِرْبَاضِ بْنِ سَارِيَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَرَّمَ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ كُلَّ ذِي مِخْلَبٍ مِنَ الطَّيْرِ وَلُحُومَ الْحُمُرِ الْأَهْلِيَّةِ وَالْخَلِيسَةَ وَالْمُجَثَّمَةَ وَأَنْ تُوطَأَ السَّبَايَا حَتَّى يَضَعْنَ مَا فِي بُطُونِهِنَّ
Syedna Irbad bin Sariyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that on the day of Khaybar, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) declared as forbidden every bird that hunts with its talons, the meat of domestic donkeys, any animal killed by a beast of prey, any animal killed by being tied up and used for target practice, and intercourse with pregnant slave women until they give birth. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) declared all these things to be unlawful.
Hadith 7330
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَرَّمَ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ كُلَّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنَ السِّبَاعِ وَالْمُجَثَّمَةَ وَالْحِمَارَ الْإِنْسِيَّ
Syedna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day of Khaybar declared every predatory animal with fangs, animals killed by being shot (as targets), and domestic donkeys to be forbidden.
Hadith 7331
عَنْ صَالِحٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْمِقْدَامِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ مَعْدِيكَرِبَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ غَزَوْنَا مَعَ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ الصَّائِفَةَ فَقَرِمَ أَصْحَابُنَا إِلَى اللَّحْمِ فَسَأَلُونِي فَقَالُوا أَتَأْذَنُ لَنَا أَنْ نَذْبَحَ رَمْكَةً لَهُ فَدَفَعْتُهَا إِلَيْهِمْ فَحَبَلُوهَا ثُمَّ قُلْتُ مَكَانَكُمْ حَتَّى آتِيَ خَالِدًا فَأَسْأَلَهُ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ غَزَوْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَزْوَةَ خَيْبَرَ فَأَسْرَعَ النَّاسُ فِي حَظَائِرِ يَهُودَ فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أُنَادِيَ الصَّلَاةُ جَامِعَةٌ وَلَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا مُسْلِمٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّكُمْ قَدْ أَسْرَعْتُمْ فِي حَظَائِرِ يَهُودَ أَلَا لَا تَحِلُّ أَمْوَالُ الْمُعَاهَدِينَ إِلَّا بِحَقِّهَا وَحَرَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ لُحُومُ الْحُمُرِ الْأَهْلِيَّةِ وَخَيْلِهَا وَبِغَالِهَا وَكُلِّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنَ السِّبَاعِ وَكُلِّ ذِي مِخْلَبٍ مِنَ الطَّيْرِ
Sayyiduna Miqdam bin Ma’dikarib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that we participated in a battle during the summer with Sayyiduna Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him). Our companions greatly desired to eat meat, so they said: “Do you permit us to slaughter a mare?” He gave them permission and they tied them with ropes. Then I said: “Wait, I will go to Sayyiduna Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) and ask him.” I asked him, and he said: “We participated in the Battle of Khaybar with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The people advanced very quickly towards the Jews’ fortresses. The Prophet ordered me to call out to gather the people: ‘As-Salatu Jami’ah’ and to say that only a Muslim will enter Paradise. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘O people! You have shown great haste in advancing towards the Jews’ fortresses. Beware! The wealth of the dhimmis is not lawful for you except with due right, and the meat of domestic donkeys, horses, and mules is forbidden for you, as is every predatory animal with fangs and every bird that hunts with its talons.’”
Hadith 7332
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ أَكْلِ لُحُومِ الْخَيْلِ وَالْبِغَالِ وَالْحَمِيرِ
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the meat of horses, mules, and donkeys.
Hadith 7333
وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَالِثٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ مَعْدِيكَرِبَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ غَزَوْتُ مَعَ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ الصَّائِفَةَ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَ الطَّرِيقِ الْأُولَى سَوَاءً بِسَوَاءٍ
(Third chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Miqdam bin Ma'dikarib (may Allah be pleased with him): I participated in a battle with Sayyiduna Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) during the summer season, then narrated a text similar to the one in the first chain.
Hadith 7334
عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ كُلِّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنَ السَّبُعِ وَكُلِّ ذِي مِخْلَبٍ مِنَ الطَّيْرِ وَعَنْ ثَمَنِ الْمَيْتَةِ وَعَنْ لَحْمِ الْحُمُرِ الْأَهْلِيَّةِ وَعَنْ مَهْرِ الْبَغِيِّ وَعَنْ عَسْبِ الْفَحْلِ وَعَنِ الْمَيَاثِرِ الْأُرْجُوَانِ
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade every predatory animal with fangs, every bird that hunts with its talons, the price of carrion, the meat of domesticated donkeys, the earnings of a fornicating woman, taking payment for the mating of a bull, and the use of a red saddlecloth.
