Chapter: One Who Alluded to Accusing His Wife Due to Doubt About the Child
Hadith 7211
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي فَزَارَةَ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ إِنَّ امْرَأَتَهُ وَلَدَتْ غُلَامًا أَسْوَدَ وَكَأَنَّهُ يُعَرِّضُ أَنْ يَنْتَفِيَ مِنْهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَلَكَ إِبِلٌ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ مَا أَلْوَانُهَا قَالَ حُمْرٌ قَالَ فِيهَا ذَوْدٌ أَوْرَقُ قَالَ نَعَمْ فِيهَا ذَوْدٌ أَوْرَقُ قَالَ وَمِمَّا ذَاكَ قَالَ لَعَلَّهُ نَزَعَهُ عِرْقٌ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهَذَا لَعَلَّهُ يَكُونُ نَزَعَهُ عِرْقٌ (زَادَ فِي رِوَايَةٍ) وَلَمْ يُرَخِّصْ لَهُ فِي الِانْتِفَاءِ مِنْهُ
Syedna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man from Banu Fazarah came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! My wife has given birth to a black child. (Since he himself was of fair complexion), he was actually indicating denial of the child. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: Do you have camels? He said: Yes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: What are their colors? He said: Red. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Is there a gray-colored camel among them? He said: Yes, there is. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Where did that come from? He said: Perhaps some vein has pulled it. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Perhaps this child has also been pulled by a vein. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not permit him to deny the child.
