بَابُ الْقَسَم بَيْنَ الزَّوْجَاتِ وَمُدَّةِ إِقَامَةِ الزَّوْجِ عِنْدَ الْبِكْرِ وَالشَّيبِ
Chapter: Division Between Wives and the Duration of the Husband's Stay with the Virgin and the Previously Married
Hadith 7137
عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا تَزَوَّجَ الرَّجُلُ الْبِكْرَ أَقَامَ عِنْدَهَا ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: When a man marries a virgin woman, he should stay with her for three days.
Hadith 7138
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ لَمَّا اتَّخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَفِيَّةَ أَقَامَ عِنْدَهَا ثَلَاثًا وَكَانَتْ ثَيِّبًا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that when the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, married Sayyida Safiyyah, may Allah be pleased with her, he stayed with her for three days, because she was a widow.
Hadith 7139
عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا تَزَوَّجَهَا أَقَامَ عِنْدَهَا ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَقَالَ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ بِكِ عَلَى أَهْلِكِ هَوَانٌ وَإِنْ شِئْتِ سَبَّعْتُ لَكِ وَإِنْ سَبَّعْتُ لَكِ سَبَّعْتُ لِنِسَائِي وَفِي لَفْظٍ قَالَ إِنَّ بِكِ عَلَى أَهْلِكِ كَرَامَةً قَالَ الرَّاوِي فَأَقَامَ عِنْدَهَا إِلَى الْعَشِيِّ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنْ شِئْتِ سَبَّعْتُ لَكِ وَإِنْ سَبَّعْتُ لَكِ سَبَّعْتُ لِسَائِرِ نِسَائِي وَإِنْ شِئْتِ قَسَمْتُ لَكِ قَالَتْ لَا بَلِ اقْسِمْ لِي
Narrated from Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married me, he stayed with me for three days and said: Surely, in this there is neither any insult to your family nor any deprivation of your right. If you wish, I can complete seven days, but then I will also stay seven days with each of my other wives. In another narration, it is stated: Because of you, there is honor and dignity for your family. One narrator said: Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed with her until the evening and said: If you wish, I will spend seven days with you, but then I will also fix seven days for my other wives, and if you wish, I will divide (the time) for you. She said: No, rather, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), divide (the time) for me.
