Hadith 7047
Humaid bin Abdur Rahman narrates from a companion of the Messenger of Allah that the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When two people invite you at the same time, then accept the invitation of the one whose door is closer, because the one whose door is closer is a nearer neighbor. And if one of them invites you first, then accept the invitation of the one who invited you first.

There was a one-eyed man from Banu Thaqif. Imam Qatadah says: He is called Ma'ruf, and if his name was not Zuhair bin Uthman, then I do not know what his name was. In any case, it is narrated from this man that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The walimah (wedding feast) of the first day is a right, the second day is a customary practice, and the walimah of the third day is for fame and show.
