Hadith 7028

عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَقِيَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ وَبِهِ وَضَرٌ مِنْ خَلُوقٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ مَهْيَمْ يَا عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ قَالَ كَمْ أَصْدَقْتَهَا قَالَ وَزْنَ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ قَالَ أَنَسٌ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ قَسَمَ لِكُلِّ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهِ مِائَةَ أَلْفِ دِينَارٍ زَادَ فِي رِوَايَةٍ بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) met Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him). When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) noticed the scent of perfume on him, he asked: O Abdur Rahman! What is the matter? He replied: I have married a woman from among the Ansar. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: How much dowry did you give? He said: I gave gold equal to the weight of a date stone. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Hold a wedding feast, even if it is with a single goat. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I saw that after his death, each of his wives received one hundred thousand dinars. In another narration, it is mentioned that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard of his marriage, he said to him: May Allah bless you, hold a wedding feast, even if it is with a single goat.
Hadith 7029
وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْلَمَ عَلَى امْرَأَةٍ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ مَا أَوْلَمَ عَلَى زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ جَحْشٍ قَالَ فَأَوْلَمَ بِشَاةٍ أَوْ ذَبَحَ شَاةً
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I have not seen the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) hold such a great wedding feast (walima) on the occasion of any of his marriages as he did on the occasion of his marriage to Sayyida Zaynab bint Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with her). On that occasion, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) slaughtered a goat.
Hadith 7030
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ لَمَّا دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِزَيْنَبَ ابْنَةِ جَحْشٍ أَوْلَمَ فَأَطْعَمَنَا خُبْزًا وَلَحْمًا وَفِي لَفْظٍ فَأَشْبَعَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ خُبْزًا وَلَحْمًا
Narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) consummated his marriage with Sayyida Zaynab bint Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with her), he held a wedding feast (walima) and fed us meat and bread. In one narration, it is stated: He satisfied the Muslims with meat and bread.
Hadith 7031
عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ لَمَّا خَطَبَ عَلِيٌّ فَاطِمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّهُ لَا بُدَّ لِلْعُرْسِ مِنْ وَلِيمَةٍ قَالَ فَقَالَ سَعْدٌ عَلَيَّ كَبْشٌ وَقَالَ فُلَانٌ عَلَيَّ كَذَا وَكَذَا مِنْ ذُرَةٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraidah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that when Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) sent a marriage proposal to Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: After marriage, a wedding feast (walimah) is necessary. Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I will give a sheep. Another said: I will give such and such amount of corn.
Hadith 7032
عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ يُحَدِّثُ قَالَ شَهِدْتُ وَلِيمَتَيْنِ مِنْ نِسَاءِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فَمَا أَطْعَمَنَا فِيهِمَا خُبْزًا وَلَا لَحْمًا قُلْتُ فَمَهْ قَالَ الْحَيْسَ يَعْنِي التَّمْرَ وَالْأَقِطَ بِالسَّمْنِ
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I attended the wedding feasts (walima) of two of the wives of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He did not serve us bread nor meat. (Ali bin Zayd) said: Then what was there? He said: Hais, that is, a kind of sweet dish made from dates, cheese, and ghee.
Hadith 7033
عَنْ ثَابِتِ الْبُنَانِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَعَلَ وَلِيمَةَ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ حُيَيٍّ التَّمْرَ وَالْأَقِطَ وَالسَّمْنَ قَالَ فُحِصَتِ الْأَرْضُ أَفَاحِيصَ قَالَ وَجِيءَ بِالْأَنْطَاعِ فَوُضِعَتْ فِيهَا ثُمَّ جِيءَ بِالْأَقِطِ وَالتَّمْرِ وَالسَّمْنِ فَشَبِعَ النَّاسُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) held the wedding banquet (walima) of Sayyidah Safiyyah bint Huyayy (may Allah be pleased with her) with dates, cheese, and ghee. The ground was dug and leveled, then tablecloths were spread, and on them were placed cheese, dates, and ghee. The people ate to their fill.
Hadith 7034
عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سَهْلًا يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ أَتَى أَبُو أُسَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيُّ فَدَعَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي عُرْسِهِ فَكَانَتِ امْرَأَتُهُ خَادِمَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَهِيَ الْعَرُوسُ قَالَ تَدْرُونَ مَا سَقَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْقَعَتْ تَمَرَاتٍ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فِي تَوْرٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Sayyiduna Abu Usaid Sa’idi came and invited the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to his wedding. On that day, his wife was serving as his maid; it was she who had gotten married. He says: Do you know what she served the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to drink? She had soaked some dates in a vessel overnight, (it was that nabidh which she served to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 7035
عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ شَهِدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلِيمَةً مَا فِيهَا خُبْزٌ وَلَا لَحْمٌ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) attended a wedding feast in which there was neither bread nor meat.
Hadith 7036
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ أَوْلَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى بَعْضِ نِسَائِهِ بِمُدَّيْنِ مِنْ شَعِيرٍ
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) served two mudd of barley at the wedding feast (walimah) of one of his wives.
