It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: When I married a woman, a black woman came to us and said: I have suckled both of you husband and wife. Upon hearing this, I went to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I have married the daughter of so-and-so, now a black woman has come to us and she says that she has suckled both of us, while she is a liar. Upon hearing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned away from me. I then came before your blessed face again and said: She is lying. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: How is she lying, now that she has said that she has suckled both of you? Now, leave this wife.
. (Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) that he married Umm Yahya bint Abi Ihab, but a black woman came and said: I have suckled both of you. Then when I mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he turned away from me. I also turned to that side and then informed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) of this matter. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What can be done now, when she thinks that she has suckled both of you? In another narration: What can be done now, when the matter of suckling has been mentioned?
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked how many witnesses are required in the case of breastfeeding. He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: One man and one woman.
