بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِيمَنْ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةَ أَبِيهِ
Chapter: What Has Been Reported Regarding One Who Married His Father's Wife
Hadith 6954
وَعَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْبَرَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: لَقِيتُ خَالِي، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ الْمُتَقَدِّمَ وَفِي آخِرِهِ: قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ: مَا حَدَّثَ أَبِي عَنْ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ عَبْدِ الْغَفَّارِ إِلَّا هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ لِعِلَّتِهِ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I met my maternal uncle, … then narrated the above-mentioned hadith, … however, at its end it is stated, Abu Abdur Rahman said: My father narrated this hadith only from Abu Maryam Abdul Ghafar, because there is a defect in it.
Hadith 6955
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْبَاطٌ قَالَ: ثَنَا مُطَرِّفٌ عَنْ أَبِي الْجَهْمِ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: إِنِّي لَأَطُوفُ عَلَى إِبِلٍ ضَلَّتْ لِي فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَنَا أَجُولُ فِي أَبْيَاتٍ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِرَكْبٍ وَفَوَارِسَ إِذْ جَاءُوا فَطَافُوا بِفِنَائِي فَاسْتَخْرَجُوا رَجُلًا فَمَا سَأَلُوهُ وَلَا كَلَّمُوهُ حَتَّى ضَرَبُوا عُنُقَهُ، فَلَمَّا ذَهَبُوا سَأَلْتُ عَنْهُ فَقَالُوا: عَرَّسَ بِامْرَأَةِ أَبِيهِ.
Narrated by Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: During the blessed era of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), my camels were lost, so I was going around different houses. Suddenly, I saw a caravan and horsemen; they advanced and circled in my courtyard. They demanded that a man be brought out. Then they neither asked him any question nor spoke to him, until they struck off his neck. When they left, I inquired about him. People informed me that he had married his father’s wife.
Hadith 6956
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ قَالَ: أَتَوْا قُبَّةً فَاسْتَخْرَجُوا مِنْهَا رَجُلًا فَقَتَلُوهُ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: مَا هَذَا؟ قَالُوا: هَذَا رَجُلٌ دَخَلَ بِأُمِّ امْرَأَتِهِ فَبَعَثَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَتَلُوهُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mutarrif, he says: Some people came to a tent, they brought a man out from there and killed him. I asked: What is this? They informed me that this is the man who married his wife's mother. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent those people towards him, so they killed him.
Hadith 6957
عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قَالَ: مَرَّ بِنَا نَاسٌ مُنْطَلِقُونَ، فَقُلْنَا: أَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ؟ فَقَالُوا: بَعَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى رَجُلٍ يَأْتِي امْرَأَةَ أَبِيهِ أَنْ نَقْتُلَهُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Some people passed by us, we asked: Where are you going? They said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has sent us to a man who commits adultery with his father’s wife, so that we may kill him.
