Hadith 6943

عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهَا حِينَمَا تَزَوَّجَهَا أَمَا إِنِّي لَا أَنْقُصُكِ مِمَّا أَعْطَيْتُ أَخَوَاتِكِ رَحَيَيْنِ وَجَرَّةً وَمِرْفَقَةً مِنْ أَدَمٍ حَشْوُهَا لِيفٌ
It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married her, he said to her: Whatever I have given to your sisters, I will not give you less than that. There are two millstones, one water skin, and a leather mattress filled with leaves.
Hadith 6944
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى أَنْ يُجْمَعَ ب_disconnectَيْنَ الْعَمَّةِ وَالْخَالَةِ وَبَيْنَ الْعَمَّتَيْنِ وَالْخَالَتَيْنِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that a niece and paternal aunt, or a niece and maternal aunt, be joined together in one marriage.
Hadith 6945
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى أَنْ تُنْكَحَ الْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى عَمَّتِهَا أَوْ خَالَتِهَا
(Second chain) The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade marrying a woman in the presence of her paternal aunt or maternal aunt.
Hadith 6946
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى أَنْ تُنْكَحَ الْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى عَمَّتِهَا وَالْعَمَّةُ عَلَى بِنْتِ أَخِيهَا وَالْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى خَالَتِهَا وَالْخَالَةُ عَلَى بِنْتِ أُخْتِهَا لَا تُنْكَحُ الْكُبْرَى عَلَى الصُّغْرَى وَلَا الصُّغْرَى عَلَى الْكُبْرَى
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade marrying a woman and her paternal aunt together, or a woman and her niece together, or a woman and her maternal aunt together, or a woman and her niece together. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also forbade marrying the younger over the elder, and the elder over the younger.
Hadith 6947
عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تُنْكَحُ الْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى عَمَّتِهَا وَلَا عَلَى خَالَتِهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not marry a woman while her paternal aunt or maternal aunt is already present.
Hadith 6948
عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلُهُ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) has also narrated a similar type of Prophetic hadith.
Hadith 6949
عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْهَى فَذَكَرَ خِصَالًا نَهَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْهَا مِنْهَا أَنْ يُجْمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَخَالَتِهَا وَبَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَعَمَّتِهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade certain matters, then he enumerated those matters, and among them was this: to combine a girl and her maternal aunt, and a girl and her paternal aunt, in one marriage. That is, this was among the matters from which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade.
Hadith 6950
عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تُنْكَحُ الْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى عَمَّتِهَا وَلَا عَلَى خَالَتِهَا وَلَا الْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى ابْنَةِ أَخِيهَا وَلَا عَلَى ابْنَةِ أُخْتِهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: One should not marry a woman and her paternal niece, nor a woman and her maternal niece, nor a paternal niece and her paternal aunt, nor a maternal niece and her maternal aunt.
Hadith 6951
عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَبَيْنَ خَالَةِ أَبِيهَا وَالْمَرْأَةِ وَخَالَةِ أُمِّهَا وَبَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَعَمَّةِ أَبِيهَا وَالْمَرْأَةِ وَعَمَّةِ أُمِّهَا، فَقَالَ: قَالَ قَبِيصَةُ بْنُ ذُؤَيْبٍ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُجْمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَخَالَتِهَا وَبَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَعَمَّتِهَا، فَنَرَى خَالَةَ أُمِّهَا بِتِلْكَ الْمَنْزِلَةِ وَإِنْ كَانَ مِنَ الرِّضَاعِ يَكُونُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ بِتِلْكَ الْمَنْزِلَةِ.
It is narrated from Ibn Shihab that he was asked about a man who combines in his marriage a woman and her father's maternal aunt or her mother's maternal aunt, and combines a woman and her father's paternal aunt or her mother's paternal aunt. He replied: Qabeesah bin Dhu’ayb narrated that it is reported from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade combining in one marriage a woman and her maternal aunt, and a woman and her paternal aunt. We think that a woman's mother's maternal aunt is in the same position as her own maternal aunt, and if there is such a relationship through breastfeeding, then the same ruling applies.
Hadith 6952
عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: جَاءَتْ أُمُّ حَبِيبَةَ فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ! هَلْ لَكَ فِي أُخْتِي؟ قَالَ: ((فَأَصْنَعُ بِهَا مَاذَا؟)) قَالَتْ: تَزَوَّجْهَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((وَتُحِبِّينَ ذَلِكَ؟)) فَقَالَتْ: نَعَمْ، لَسْتُ لَكَ بِمُخْلِيَةٍ وَأَحَقُّ مَنْ شَرِكَنِي فِي خَيْرٍ أُخْتِي، فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((إِنَّهَا لَا تَحِلُّ لِي)) قَالَتْ: فَوَاللَّهِ! لَقَدْ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّكَ تَخْطُبُ دُرَّةَ ابْنَةَ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((لَوْ كَانَتْ تَحِلُّ لِي لَمَا تَزَوَّجْتُهَا، قَدْ أَرْضَعَتْنِي وَأَبَاهَا ثُوَيْبَةُ مَوْلَاةُ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ فَلَا تَعْرِضْنَ عَلَيَّ أَخَوَاتِكُنَّ وَلَا بَنَاتِكُنَّ)).
Narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that Sayyidah Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) came and said: O Messenger of Allah! Do you have an interest in my sister? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What should I do with her? She said: Marry her. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do you like that? She said: Yes, and after all, I am not the only one, and my sister is most deserving to share this goodness with me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: She is not lawful for me. She said: By Allah! I have come to know that you have sent a marriage proposal to Durrah bint Umm Salamah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If she were lawful for me, even then I could not marry her, because the slave woman of Banu Hashim, Thuwaibah, nursed both me and her father. So do not present your sisters and daughters to me.
Hadith 6953
عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: لَقِيتُ خَالِي وَمَعَهُ الرَّايَةُ فَقُلْتُ: أَيْنَ تُرِيدُ؟ قَالَ: بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى رَجُلٍ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةَ أَبِيهِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ أَنْ أَضْرِبَ عُنُقَهُ أَوْ أَقْتُلَهُ وَآخُذَ مَالَهُ.
Narrated from Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I met my maternal uncle in such a state that he had a flag with him. I asked: Where are you going? He said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has sent me to a man who, after his father’s death, has married his (father’s) wife. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has sent me so that I may strike his neck, or kill him, and seize his wealth.
