بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي الْجِهَازِ
Chapter: What Has Been Reported Regarding the Bridal Furnishing
Hadith 6940
عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ جَهَّزَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاطِمَةَ فِي خَمِيلٍ وَقِرْبَةٍ وَوِسَادَةِ أَدَمٍ حَشْوُهَا لِيفُ الْإِذْخَرِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) gave these items as dowry to Sayyida Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her): a sheet, a water skin, and a leather pillow filled with the leaves of idhkhir grass.
Hadith 6941
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) مِثْلَهُ وَفِيهِ وَوِسَادَةُ أَدَمٍ حَشْوُهَا إِذْخَرٌ قَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ لِيفٌ
(The second chain) is similar to it, except that it contains: There was a leather pillow, which was filled with idhkhir grass. Abu Sa'id said: It was filled with the leaves of idhkhir grass.
Hadith 6942
وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَالِثٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا زَوَّجَهُ فَاطِمَةَ بَعَثَ مَعَهَا بِخَمِيلَةٍ وَوِسَادَةٍ مِنْ أَدَمٍ حَشْوُهَا لِيفٌ وَرَحَيَيْنِ وَسِقَاءٍ وَجَرَّتَيْنِ
(Third chain) When the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) married Lady Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), he (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) gave her this dowry: a sheet, a leather pillow filled with leaves, two grinding stones, a water skin, and two pitchers.
