Hadith 6938
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Any woman who marries for a dowry, a gift, or a promise, then whatever is given before the marriage contract will belong to the woman herself, and whatever is given after the marriage will belong to the one for whom it is given. It is daughters and sisters because of whom a person becomes most deserving of honor.
Hadith 6939
Narrated by Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The dowry or promise by which a woman's private parts are made lawful is for that woman alone, and whatever is given as an honor to her father, brother, or guardian after the marriage contract, that will belong to them. It is the daughter and the sister because of whom a man is considered most deserving of honor.
