بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي تَقْدِيم شَيْءٍ مِنَ الْمَهْرِ قَبْلَ الدخولِ وَالرُّحْصَةِ فِي تَرْكِهِ وَوَعِيدِ مَنْ سَمَّى صَدَاقًا وَلَمْ يُرِدْ أَدَانَه ،
Chapter: What Has Been Reported Regarding Giving Part of the Dowry Before Consummation, the Concession in Leaving It, and the Threat to One Who Names a Dowry but Does Not Intend to Pay It
Hadith 6936
عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَخْطُبَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ابْنَتَهُ فَقُلْتُ مَا لِي مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَكَيْفَ ثُمَّ ذَكَرْتُ صِلَتَهُ وَعَائِدَتَهُ فَخَطَبْتُهَا إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ فَأَيْنَ دِرْعُكَ الْحَطْمِيَّةُ الَّتِي أَعْطَيْتُكَ يَوْمَ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ هِيَ عِنْدِي قَالَ فَأَعْطِهَا إِيَّاهُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I intended to send a proposal to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding his daughter, but then I thought that I have no wealth, so what should I do? Then I remembered that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) maintains ties of kinship and frequently visits our house, so I sent him this message. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do you have anything? I said: No. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Where is that Hatami armor that I gave you on such and such day? I said: It is with me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Give that to Fatimah.
Hadith 6937
عَنْ صُهَيْبِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ أَصْدَقَ امْرَأَةً صَدَاقًا وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ لَا يُرِيدُ أَدَاءَهُ إِلَيْهَا فَغَرَّهَا بِاللَّهِ وَاسْتَحَلَّ فَرْجَهَا بِالْبَاطِلِ لَقِيَ اللَّهَ يَوْمَ يَلْقَاهُ وَهُوَ سَارِقٌ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Suhaib bin Sinan (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever sets a dowry for a woman and Allah Almighty knows that he does not intend to pay it, thus he deceives the woman in the name of Allah and makes her private parts lawful for himself in an unlawful way, this man, on the day he meets Allah Almighty, will be counted among the thieves.
