بابُ هَلْ يُقْطَعُ العَبْدُ إِذَا سَرَقَ مِنْ. ا سَرَقَ مِنْ سَيِّدِهِ؟ وَمَا حُكْمُ الْعَبْدِ الْآبِقِ إِذَا سَرَقَ
Chapter: Is the Slave's Hand Cut If He Steals from His Master? And the Ruling of the Runaway Slave If He Steals
Hadith 6764
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَرَقَ الْعَبْدُ فَبِيعُوهُ وَلَوْ بِنَشٍّ يَعْنِي بِنِصْفِ أُوقِيَّةٍ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a slave steals, then sell him, even if you have to sell him for half an uqiyah.
Hadith 6765
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا أَبَقَ الْعَبْدُ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً إِذَا سَرَقَ فَبِيعُوهُ وَلَوْ بِنَشٍّ وَالنَّشُّ نِصْفُ الْأُوقِيَّةِ
(Second chain) The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When a slave runs away—on one occasion the narrator said: When a slave steals—then sell him, even if you have to sell him for twenty dirhams.
