Hadith 6707
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, that when Ma'iz bin Malik came to the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and confessed to adultery, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Perhaps you only kissed or touched (her)?" He said: "No." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Did you have intercourse?" He said: "Yes." So the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered, and he was stoned to death.
Hadith 6708
(Second chain) When Ma'iz said that he had committed adultery, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Perhaps you only indicated with your eyes (or it means that you only touched with your hand), or kissed, or looked? The narrator says: It seems that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) feared that perhaps this person was unfamiliar with the definition of adultery.
